In the Vestige series, the surface is not the end of the process — it is the record of it. Yeon-li binds differently coloured clays into a single body before the vessel is formed. Wheel-throwing, cutting, polishing: each step removes material and exposes what is already there. In black, the contrasts are quiet. The geometry becomes the statement.
BB204_2026 departs from the upright bottle form that characterises much of the series. The wider neck and lower centre of gravity give this piece a different kind of presence — grounded, settled, more anchored to the surface it rests on. Same process, different argument.

"In Kim Deokho's Vestige series, every surface mark is a record of time — unplanned, uncontrolled, and entirely unrepeatable. A thought drawn in clay."
