The Vestige series takes its name from the evidence of making — the marks, decisions, and gestures that survive the kiln. In Vestige_CC468_2025, those traces take the form of precise geometric faceting: a surface divided into angular planes that catch and hold light differently depending on the hour and the room.
The cobalt blues range from a near-black indigo at the vessel's depths to a lighter, more expansive hue at the shoulders — a gradient achieved not through painting, but through the different layers of clay. Each facet is a consequence of the form beneath it. The title is itself a mark: a record number, a moment fixed in time.
