The Pebble form takes its name from its dense, rounded silhouette — a single, unbroken curve from shoulder to base, without the tapering foot or raised crown seen in Jaejun Lee’s other forms. Here the celadon glaze is at its darkest and most saturated, a deep grey-green with a glassy shine that reinforces the stone-like reading of the piece.
Wheel-thrown in Korean porcelain and fired in gas reduction at Cone 9, the piece follows the same glazing method as the rest of Jaejun Lee’s celadon work: the glaze is applied to the upper section and left to run during firing, gathering here into narrow, finger-like drips at the base. Each is fixed permanently at the moment the kiln reaches its final temperature.
