At 19.3 cm across, this is the widest piece in the delivery — a shallow, generously flared bowl rather than an upright vessel. Its most distinctive feature is the boundary where the pale celadon glaze ends: rather than a straight line or simple drip, it falls in an irregular, scalloped edge, each point a trace of the glaze’s own movement during firing.
Jaejun Lee applies the celadon glaze to the upper portion of the wheel-thrown porcelain body and lets it run freely in the gas-fired reduction kiln at Cone 9, rather than controlling it to an even coat. The result recorded here — a wavering, crown-like edge — is unrepeatable, fixed permanently at the moment the kiln reached its final temperature.
