Vase VIII shares its family resemblance with Vase VII — the same wide shoulder narrowing abruptly to a small mouth, the same hexagonal base — but its proportions are more compact, and its single seam curves more tightly across the surface, giving the piece a slightly more contained, self-enclosed presence.
Lee Songam builds his vessels in loose families like this: related silhouettes that are never quite repeated. Each piece is, in his words, an outward form of internal energy rather than a demonstration of a fixed idea — so even close relatives never resolve into duplicates.
