Bottle takes the Seolsan mountain band and wraps it around the widest point of a flattened, disc-like form — a silhouette closer to a millstone or a low hill than to a conventional bottle. A narrow mouth sits at the centre of its gently domed top, easy to miss from a distance.
The proportions are unusual within the series: wider than it is tall, so the mountain band reads almost like a ring circling the piece rather than a scene viewed from one side. It is Shin Suyeon's most compressed, horizontal take on the Seolsan form.
