Flow Blue V-5 is one of the largest and most fully realised vessels in Kim Hojung's Flow practice. The fifth subseries represents the culmination of a sustained formal research: the vessel has grown in both scale and presence, commanding attention at distance as well as close examination.
Rooted in a decade-long research into ancient vessel forms — Cypriot jugs from 2400–1600 BCE and Korean Neolithic pottery — the work translates this historical vocabulary into a wholly contemporary language. Blue is not incidental: it holds, in Kim Hojung's own words, "a sense of longing for the infinite spaces of nature — sky and sea." The vessel makes that interior experience visible.
Flow Blue V-5 was wheel-thrown in white porcelain, hand-shaped to its final form, and high-temperature fired.
