The Blue Moon series extends Kim Hojung's sustained engagement with ancient vessel forms into a rounder, more lunar register. Where the Flow series often moves upward and outward, the Blue Moon form turns inward — complete, enclosed, restful.
The blue surface follows the formal logic of Kim Hojung's broader practice: inspired by Korean Neolithic pottery and ancient vessel forms, each gesture across the surface is unrepeatable. The surface is a faithful record of the making.
Mini Blue Moon IV is the fourth vessel in this subseries, produced in 2026. It was wheel-thrown in white porcelain and hand-shaped before high-temperature firing.

About the artist
Kim Hojung 김호정
